Project of the Month
"Increase in plant productivity through systemic optimization"
CURRENT CONDITION
· Investment in an automated production facility with the aim of increasing
production capacity
· The output quantity is far below the requirements in quality and capacity
· Technical issues are causing frequent production interruptions
· Lack of coordination of the surrounding organization
IMPROVEMENT STEPS
· Definition of targets with customer input
· Analysis of current situation
· Introduction of measures to stabilize the processes and increase system availability
· Standardization of processes and definition of responsibilities
· Introduction of stop protocols and shift handover protocols
· Introduction of system-specific cleaning and maintenance processes
· Holding a workshop with visualization of the defects using defect cards
· Implementation of a set-up workshop to optimize set-up times through consistent separation of
internal and external set-up processes
· Evaluation of production figures to visualize the production
· Regular auditing by Lignum Consulting after project completion
