Project of the Month
„Collaborative robotics for automating recurring assembly processes“
Costs per robot cell
approx. 80.000 €
Engineering and implementation time
approx. 2 months
Operation training
approx. 3 - 5 days
Collaborative Robotics is uncharted territory for many companies.
Basic idea:
A variable (movable) robotic arm is outfitted with various tools for use in recurring processing and assembly.
Current problems:
Safety requirements for machines preclude collaborative work with robots.
Increased complexity increases costs, especially for smaller projects where robots may otherwise be suitable.
Vision:
Staying competitive and in touch with the latest developments in robotic technology.
Real-time camera systems are coming very soon and should be embraced.
WHAT TYPE OF WORK IS SUITABLE FOR USING A LIGHTWEIGHT ROBOT?
· Easy to describe
· Low level of complexity
· Currently performed by production workers
WHY SHOULD WE CONSIDER USING A LIGHTWEIGHT ROBOT?
· Higher, consistent quality of work
· Less reliant on qualified production personnel
· Less production downtime due to absenteeism
· Ability to quickly pivot activities and production schedules
· Improved company image as being future-oriented
